Our Partners

Overview

We bring together researchers, healthcare teams and other implementing partners (public health practitioners, community and governmental organizations, policy makers, etc.) to design, conduct and disseminate implementation research. We also work closely with several training partners to design and implement high-quality training and career development offerings focused on implementation science methods to improve health equity. Our current partnerships are outlined below:

Our UCSF Partners

Implementation Science Training Program

The UCSF Implementation Science Training Program sits within the UCSF Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics. Their part-time online course offerings are designed for people from a broad range of professional settings who are currently engaged in the development, implementation and evaluation of strategies to improve health and health care quality.

Learners enrolled in part-time courses gain knowledge on how to identify appropriate interventions to translate into practice, design effective and sustainable implementation strategies, design comprehensive and rigorous evaluations, and develop fundable implementation science grant proposals.

Implementation Science Training Program offerings include:

  • The Online Certificate Program in Implementation Science
  • Individual courses on Implementation Science Approaches
  • Implementation Science Short Course
  • Implementation Science Mini-Course
  • Master’s Degree in Clinical Research – Implementation Science Track

Center for AIDS Prevention Studies (CAPS) Implementation Science and Health Systems Core

The CAPS Implementation Science (IS) and Health Systems (HS) Core sits within the UCSF Department of Medicine. This core aims to help put an end to the HIV epidemic by equipping scientists with the skills and expertise to conduct research to expand proven interventions in diverse settings.

The IS/HS Core provides the following:

  • Implementation Research Consultation
  • Town Halls, Skills Building Workshops, and Mini-Conferences
  • Peer Review
  • Collaboration Opportunities

PRISE Center Co-Director, Dr. Jennifer Velloza, serves as primary faculty with CAPS.

The UCSF-Bay Area Center for AIDS Research (CFAR) is home to an implementation science interest group (ISIG), which aims to develop a scientific community among HIV researchers engaged in implementation science research and increase the number of junior investigators submitting and receiving grants in the area of implementation science.

PRISE Center Co-Director, Dr. Jennifer Velloza, serves as Co-Director of the Implementation Science Interest Group.

The UCSF Learning Health Systems (LHS) Embedded Scientist Training and Research (E-STAR) Center Scholars program is a training program for scholars at UCSF to work with health system and community partners to conduct research projects embedded in healthcare delivery systems. The PRISE Center supports E-STAR on the design and implementation of an online interactive workshop focused on using implementation science approaches to advance learning health systems.

PRISE Center Co-Directors Dr. Jennifer Velloza and Dr. Neeta Thakur serve as faculty within the E-STAR program, with Dr. Velloza also serving as the Program Evaluation Lead.

The UCSF Center for Climate Health and Equity (CCHE) is focused on making the health and equity impacts of climate change evident, urgent and actionable.

Through research, education, health system sustainability and policy, the center harnesses the expertise and leadership of the health sector to drive ambitious climate action for health and health action for the climate.

PRISE Center Co-Director, Dr. Neeta Thakur, serves as CCHE’s Research Pillar Co-Chair.
