The workshop provides learners with the following: 1) an overview of core LHS and ImS principles, 2) an overview of how to apply LHS methods to patient-centered outcomes research (PCOR), and 3) how to translate LHS concepts into ‘real-world’ work and research settings.

The workshop covers the following topics:

  • Introduction to Learning Health Systems
  • Introduction to Implementation Science
  • Identifying Evidence and Making the Case for Translation
  • An Overview of Service Design
  • Reflections on Community Engagement: Listening, Learning, and Action

Training Partner: Learning Health Systems E-STAR Scholars Program

The UCSF Learning Health System (LHS) Embedded Scientist Training and Research (E-STAR) Center Scholars program is a training opportunity for scholars at UCSF to work with health system and community partners to conduct research projects embedded in healthcare delivery systems. The goal of the E-STAR Center is to develop a diverse workforce of leaders to engage with health systems and community stakeholders to conduct embedded LHS research that improves healthcare quality, equity, and patient-centered outcomes.
